The Bloomin’ Lovely socks are an all-over colourwork design inspired by floral folk art. They are knitted cuff down and use a shadow wrap short row heel construction.

There are two chart options provided for the colourwork motif - a colour chart as well as a printer friendly symbol chart in black and white.

Sizes:
1 (2) 3

Finished circumference:
19 (21) 23cm / 7 (8) 9 in
This sock is designed to have approx 1-2.5cm/ ½ - 1in negative ease.

Sizing Tip - As colourwork socks have less stretch than plain colour socks, I would recommend sizing up if you are in between two sizes.

Needles:
2.25mm/US 1 and 2.5mm/US 1.5 circular needle with at least 80cm/32in cable using the magic loop method OR DPNs OR 25cm/10in cable depending on your preference.
(please note - the pattern is written with magic loop in mind but can be easily adapted to use other methods)

Gauge:
34 sts x 34 rows = 10 x 10cm / 4 x 4in (in colourwork on larger needles)

Materials:
For this pattern you will need 100g of any 4ply sock yarn for your MC, and approx 6-8g of CC1-4 and 10g of CC5. Most of my CCs were leftover from other projects, however if you don’t have enough leftovers I’d recommend looking for yarn that is available in 50g skeins such as Filcolana Arwetta or Drops Fabel.

Sample pair made using the following yarns:
MC: 100g Filcolana Arwetta (Natural White/101)
CC1: Filcolana Arwetta (Straw/135)
CC2: Filcolana Arwetta (Lavender Frost/267)
CC3: West Yorkshire Spinners Signature 4ply (Nutmeg/630)
CC4: Wool and the Gang Glitterball Yarn (Diva Pink)
CC5: West Yorkshire Spinners Signature 4ply (Cardamom/351)
