The granny stitch has many faces! The Blueberry shawl design aspires to explore its variations and ways to crochet this stitch.

In this shawl, the granny stitch lace sections alternate with richly-textured stripes, which are worked in the granny stitch pattern as well, but with an added twist. This results in two different looking stitch patterns; the right side of the stitch pattern gives the impression of stacked berries, while the wrong side resembles a basketweave stitch.
