I designed this hat for my dear friend Bonny, who is undergoing chemotherapy for pancreatic cancer. She has always had long, beautiful hair, but cut it recently when it began falling out from treatment. I wanted the design to be meaningful to her, so I chose this lovely celtic braid.

Knit in dk weight, the chart is a simple 8 stitch repeat over 9 rows. It begins with a twisted rib and has a slouchy fit. You will need 1 skein for the main color, and 1 skein for each contrast color. However, you can choose to do all 3 braids in 1 color, which will only take 1 skein.

~ UPDATE ~ Bonny Erickson passed away Sept. 1, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. My world will not be the same without her in my life.
