These adorable baby booties are knit modularly, in garter stitch edged in I cord, starting with the center of the face. Sides are picked up and knit from the center, the ear for that sides is knit. The nose and tongue are knit on to the center of the face. The eyes are knit separately and sewn on, the pupil is created from a French knot and sewn on. The sole is picked up and knit side to side, ending at the center back. Finally, a cuff is knit in 1 X 1 ribbing from picked up stitches.

You will need a skill set that includes:

I cord cast on
Garter stitch with applied I cord
Picking up stitches
Knitting Modularly
A bit of embroidery skills (pupils of eyes and ear tufts)
3 needle bind off (I work this with 2 needles and a crochet hook)
Ribbing
Some work with toy knitting would be helpful.

In other words, this is not a fast knit in spite of the small size.

Working on a re-write now with more pictures and explanations. I am offering it for sale again as originally published with the caveat that more information will follow in the coming months (comments posted August 2012). In addition to the baby booties, there will also be a Boston Terrier small and large motif, and instructions for adult slippers.

Sized for newborn to 3 months.

The last 2 pictures show the Large Boston Terrier motif (instructions coming soon) and the small baby booties motif before it is made into booties.
