This is an updated version of the messy bun hat that took the winter fashion world by ‘storm’ a couple years ago. I added a big texture, a brim and a ponytail elastic to reinforce the hole and to help style your messy bun. It’s so think, squishy and stretchy, this hat has become my go-to when heading out the door!
This pattern is easily adjusted to larger or smaller sizes using slightly different size hooks, adding or subtracting rows for a custom fit. This pattern looks great with as a regular hat too, and the simple instructions to adapt this pattern to a beanie or pompom hat are included!

Three sizes included:
Child/Youth: 17-19” around
Adult Medium: 19-22” around
