Beginner knitters rejoice. You have found your first garment pattern.

I have revised this pattern in 2022 to be size inclusive, easy to manage as a first project and charts to help you navigate the shaping at the armholes.

I have also included a video for the cast on. So approach this pattern with the eagerness of all beginner knitters and knit your first garment piece.

If you have basic knitting and purling skills you will do just fine.

Knit flat from the lower rib up. The armhole shaping is assisted with a chart to help you with those decreases. Then apply those skills to the neck shaping. Pick up and knit the neck band and the armholes in the round after seaming.

You have so many options for yarn. I suggest 3 in the pattern. And remember you can always hole DK weight yarn double to make a bulky yarn for this pattern.

Enjoy and please send me all your feedback. I’m here to help. I’m always in teacher mode.
