this is from a hooded cardigan, leggings and mittens pattern.
I only made the cardigan (show me a tot willing to wear knitted leggings!).

After you’ve knitted the hood, and sewed the hood in back, you pick up stitches for the body of the hood ,and then knit the rest in one piece, no seams.
NB, you will need round needles for the neck, shoulders and body of the sweater, and DP needles for the sleeves.

The pattern is from 1968, but looks current.
The above gauge is for the #3 needles

The first time I made it per instructions. Since then, I’ve fiddled with it each time I made it. Sometime I’ve used a variety of colors, sometimes changing to stockinette, dropping the cables, and adding an intarsia picture.
The photos attached use Bernat Baby Sport ombre yarn with matching Bernat sport solid colors; but otherwise stick to the pattern, except, I always add a tassel to the hood.
