3 in 1! This pattern comes with the Building Blocks Cowl & Brio Garter Cowl PDFs as well!

Gather a colorful collection of yarns to knit this large textured scarf. You can knit each section as long as you want for a personalized collage of stripes. The striped sections include garter stitch, knit ‘n slide, brioche, and garter ridges staggered between stockinette/reverse stockinette sections.

Sizes
Small (Large)
Sizes are based on gauge and yarn weight. The length is customizable.

Finished Measurements
80 (106)“ / 203 (269)cm long, 16 (18)” / 41 (46)cm wide.

Yarn
Worsted (chunky) weight
The green/orange/purple/speckled sample scarf uses 1 strand of aran weight held together with 1 strand of lace weight mohair/silk to achieve a chunky fabric.

Yardage
Approximately 1250 (1500)yds / 1143 (1372)m total

The large sample uses 8 colors of Hedgehog Fibres Merino Aran held together with coordinating color of kidsilk mohair. If you have approximately 150-200yds / 137-183m of each color, that will be enough to create a generously sized scarf. Feel free to use as many colors as you like. This fabric is ideal for using up leftover bits of yarn.

If you wish to make a similar fabric with fuzzy mohair, you will need the recommended yardage for both the worsted or aran weight AND the kidsilk mohair.

The blue/gray version uses Malabrigo Angora, Madelinetosh Tosh Chunky, & Fibre Company Arranmore for an aran/chunky weight version on US 9 / 5.5mm needles.

Sections 1, 3, 5, & 7 are striped (garter stitch, knit ‘n slide, brioche, and purl ridge sections).
Section 2, 4, 6, & 8 are solid (stockinette/reverse stockinette stitch sections).

Needles
32” US 8 (10) / 5 (6)mm circular needle
The fabric is knit flat, but circular needles are required for the brioche and knit ‘n slide stitch patterns.

Notions
6 stitch markers, tapestry needle

Gauge
18 (16) sts & 30 (28) rows = 4” / 10cm in garter stitch

Errata
