The beautiful stitch pattern plays with negative space to really highlight the feathers. Beads adorn the edge motif.

Pattern Notes
This shawl is worked from the bottom edge up. Decreases in the charts and short rows in the body are worked to shape the shawl. A purl ridge and I cord bind off ensure the top edge won’t roll.

The feather motif is very heavily modified from Herbert Niebling’s Königskerze.

Finished Measurements
Depth (edge): 20in / 51cm (note: edge blocks out deeper than gauge suggests because of lace pattern)
Depth (center): 22in / 56cm
Outer edge: 102in / 259cm
Inner edge: 50in / 127cm

Yarn
Zen Yarn Garden Serenity Lace, 90% superwash merino / 10% cashmere (1050 yds / 960m per 3.5oz / 100g), 1 skein, shown in Maple Red. As knit, shawl used 965 yds /882m.

Needles
US2 / 2.75mm needles or size to obtain gauge
US2.5 / 3mm dpns (2) for I cord bind off.
