Butterfly Crescent was part of the Summer Buzz Club 2022 - a collaborative Yarn Club with Longmont Yarn Shoppe, The Studio Knitting and Needlepoint and Longmont Yarn Shoppe. This was the August Knit Kit pattern.

The Shawl is worked from the bottom up
beginning with 2 border sections followed by the
main body of the shawl which uses short rows for
shaping. An additional 3 sts from the border are
knitted at the end of each row until near the end
of the body.

Additional butterflies are added as
there are enough stitches for a complete butterfly
plus a minimum of 5 sts and keeping pattern
balanced on each side of center.

The pattern is worked from a series of charts.
Beads are used for the tops of the antenna in the
Butterfly Border then placed randomly through
the body of the shawl. (May be used on every
butterfly or omitted entirely). Beads are placed on
individual sts and NOT prestrung as this can
damage the fibers.

Blocking is very important. Piece will not show
pattern stitches or lie correctly if not blocked.
