(printable PDF-file / 66 pages)

Developed by Megan Lapp aka Crafty Intentions, this is a Butterfly pattern!

Este patrón está disponible en español.
Diese Anleitung ist sowohl auf Deutsch erhältlich.
Une traduction française du patron est maintenant disponible.
This pattern is available in English, Spanish, French, German, and Dutch.

This Butterfly pattern comes with instructions for a realistic butterfly body, and FOUR individual styles of butterfly wings! These butterflies are ready to flutter into your home and sit patiently wherever you put them. This pattern features stunning wing styles ranging from extremely simple to textured and complex and clear step by step instruction with a lot of row-by-row photos. The gauge is not crucial to the pattern as long as the stitches are tight enough to hold stuffing.

This Pattern consists of ONE PDF File, but the last 16 pages are Text-Only instructions.

This pattern is a total of 66 pages containing a full set of written instructions with photographic illustrations, and there are video tutorials for particular steps and stitches available on my youtube channel. There is also a full set of printer-friendly, text-only instructions, but I strongly recommend you still refer to the photographic illustrations throughout the pattern if you have any questions.

1-2 pieces of 18-inch 20 gauge cloth wrapped brown stem wire PER WING PIECE (wings consist of top and bottom pieces.
The cloth wrapped aspect is not necessary but is useful for the friction it provides. As you crochet around this wire, it will not slide or shift.

1 piece of 18-inch 18 gauge paper-wrapped wire or 14 gauge Multipurpose Wire
For one Butterfly Body, you will need 6 Inches of this wire. This wire serves as a connective support between the three separate pieces of the Butterfly Body. It does not need to be wire, it could be a thin dowel, etc.
One 3mm black Chenille stem (Pipe Cleaner) to use for the proboscis
Fabric glue
Only necessary if you are adding antennae and a proboscis, though you can also use it for the legs and wing wires for added security
