I have a fascination with cables. All kinds of cables: easy, complicated, ribbed, reversible. You name it. When fall comes around I want to knit cables all the time.

Some cables are so nice that you want to show them off as much as possible. This particular cable stitch falls under that category. In the winter, a cowl or a scarf is way more visible over a jacket than the sweater under your coat.

You can easily add repeats to this pattern to make it longer and wear it as a scarf, eliminating the button holes and buttons. Or, wrap it around your head twice as a huge cowl and button the sides.

Either way, it’s time to show off your cabling skills!

Finished Size: 25” long, 8” tall.

Notions: yarn needle, cable needle, three 1” buttons, stitch markers (optional).

Pattern includes both written and charted instructions.
