Skill Level--Advanced Beginner to Intermediate
Skills Required--working in round, 3-needle bind off, I-cord, Kitchener for mittens (or 3-Needle bind off), simple increases and decreases

Detailed instructions for cute earflap hat. Triple tested.
Earflaps are worked in round as for sock toes decreasing out to I-cord ites; from provisional cast-on then worked into brim of hat. Instructions of color jogless stripes. Link to PomPom tutorial done by me.

Hat could be worked in smaller child sizes by working in lighter yarn. I would recommend ‘Little Bubs Earflaps Hat’ for that, as the math is already worked out for you.

Mittens are worked cuff to finger tip, with properly gusseted thumb for fit. They are the same for both hands, with simple stockinette body. Option to lengthen cuffs. Mittens could be worked on 6 st/inch and with lighter worsted yarn if desired.
