This pattern gives you the flexibility to use any colors of your choice. It calls for the use of two (2) colors of worsted weight yarn to create hats for any season of the year.

The versatility of this pattern is endless (Xmas hats, autumn colors hats, winter hats, school colors hats, chemo hats for charity work and unisex hats just to name a few). Unleash your creativity with your favorite colors.

Skill level: Intermediate (because of color changes throughout but the pattern could be a great beginner’s learning project)

Use this same pattern to make a child’s hat just go down a hook size (5.0mm) that’s what’s so nice about this easy pattern.

materials:
yarn, 5.5mm hook, scissors, tapestry needle
optional: pompom maker

Stitches used: HDC, DC, FPDC, BPDC, SS

The pattern does not include instructions for making an optional pompom, however, you will find many DIY tutorials online for an easy pompom for your hat.

This pattern is designated as Intermediate skills because you will be transitioning from one color to the next in alternating rounds. I’ve attached my own short video tutorial for color changing in the round click here

The written pattern uses U.S. crochet terminology, however, I’ve also included U.K. crochet equivalents.

Remember to always measure the recipient’s head with a tape measure across the forehead and around the full circumference of the head to get a more accurate measurement.
