I love the unique colors of the western USA and have the privalege to live in Colorado. I have long travelled to various parts the world where I love to photograph and then paint the area’s unique landscapes. This is the first time I’ve taken it to fiberart and Canyonlands is the first from my latest collection of themes: “Western Fiberscapes.” They are my modern interpretation of those hues, vistas and culture that are uniquely western.

“Canyonlands” is a long, shallow asymetrical wrap, knit in garter stitch throughout with carefully selected colours blending and merging to create an illusion of western horizons and mountain sillouettes. The level of difficulty comes from some slip stitch work and a few simple, 2 color intarsia edgings. This statement shawl can dress up jeans and a leather jacket, as easily as a stylish wool coat, and paired with turquoise and silver jewelry.

Measurements Approx 70” x 13”

There are 5 colors of which they take approx 1/2 - 2/3 of a skein each.

Need 40” circular needle, but will knit back and forth on.
