A summer cowl with a purpose: wet the cowl and wear outdoors to keep cool. The idea for this cowl came up on a Caribbean crochet cruise with The Crochet Crowd in 2015.(http://crochet-cruises.com/)
The pattern is worked on any number of stitches and can easily be adapted for width and length.
Gauge is not essential for this project. If you want more open space, use a larger hook.
Dishcloth cotton works well. Be sure it is colorfast if you plan to wet and wear this.
One ball (70 grams) will make one cowl.

The crochet equivalent for this stitch pattern is {single crochet/chain 1/skip1}
