This is a top-down hat worked from the top of the crown down to the earflaps. “Ears” are made separately and sewn on afterward.

To Fit Size: 0-6 months, (6-12 months, Child Small, Child Large)

Designer Note You may be able to make 2 hats with one skein of Juniper Moon Cumulus if you are making size 0-6 months through Child Small. Unfortunately, the Child Large size will only make one hat with one skein.

Materials
80, (95, 125, 150)—yards worsted weight yarn per hat. We used Juniper Moon Cumulus (251yds/100G, 94% Cotton, 6% Nylon): Color 14 Lancelot Encore: 1 skein for any size

  • US Size 5 (3.75mm) and 7 (4.5mm) double points (set of 5)
  • optional US Size 7 (4.5mm) 16” (40.64 cm) circular
  • 7, (8, 9, 10) stitch markers (6, (7, 8, 9) in one color and 1 in a different color)
  • tapestry needle

Gauge
20 sts, 28 rows = 4” in stockinette stitch in the round on US Size 7 (4.5mm) knitting needle after blocking.
Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
