An effortless project for all creatures great and small, this Tunisian Simple Stitch scarf was inspired by the knit Baktus pattern. Pet-sized scarf will take under 50 g of sockweight yarn; human-sized scarf requires 100 g or more.

Dictated by Purr Graham to Beth, the pattern as written makes a scarf for a small dog, but is easily upsized by adding more rows until reaching half the desired length.

(Purr would like me to tell you that he named the scarf “Cattus” because it’s the Latin word for cat, and because it sounds a little like “Baktus.” I just think he’s conceited.)
