Celista is a vintage inspired tee that will make you want to throw on some hot pants and start doing the twist! It is worked with big, bold stripes in an oversized chevron pattern, creating a lovely “V” on the body that will flatter pretty much anyone. It is knit with 2-4” of positive ease and has a longer, hip length body for a more modern take on a vintage classic.

This pattern includes 2 PDFS, one for the seamed version and one for the seamless version of the pattern. Both have their strong points so I leave it up to you to decide how you would like to knit it. For both patterns the collar and yoke are worked in the round, then the front and backs are separated and worked until the underarms.

In the seamed pattern, the front and back are worked entirely separately. Once the body is complete, you will need to sew up the sides. This offers an opportunity to tailor the armhole depth to your needs, but it does add a bit of structure to the shirt that may not be desirable in a breezy summer top. The knitting of the seamed pattern is technically easier, but does require more finishing.

In the seamless pattern, the sides are joined and worked together and more of the knitting is done in the round. The knitting is a little bit more involved but does give the top a more fluid fabric. Plus - no seaming!

Both the seamed and seamless version will produce the same overall garment, there’s just two different ways to get there. Each download will include both the seamed and seamless PDFs so if you’re not sure you can look over them both and decide later.
