Charles Grey, who lent his name to the classic Earl Grey tea, is the inspiration behind the name for this particular design. Our Charles Grey Cardigan is classic, timeless and cozy, just like the famous tea. The cardigan is worked with 1 strand of Heavy Merino + 2 strands of Soft Silk Mohair held together throughout.
Charles Grey Cardigan is worked from the top down so the length can easily be adjusted to your own preference. The ribbed edges along neck and fronts are worked simultaneously with the rest of the cardigan.
Sleeve stitches are picked up around armhole and sleeves are then shaped with short rows before being continued in the round. Ribbed hem and cuffs finish the body and sleeves, while the ribbed pattern on the belt mirrors the ribbed edges along fronts.

Charles Grey Cardigan is designed with positive ease. To choose the correct size, look at the ‘to fit chest circumference’ measurements on the previous page. If your actual chest circumference is, say, 98 cm 38½”, you should choose to knit a size 2 in order to achieve the intended fit.
