This basic mitten is worked in the round using 5 dpns and is knitted from cuff to mitten tip. The thumb gusset uses paired increases, and the techniques used above the crotch of the thumb virtually eliminate the usual hole at this join.
The left and right mittens are worked identically.
Instructions for a ruffled cuff and attaching shisha mirrors are included.
The pattern includes six sizes using DK weight. If you want to use a bulky yarn such as Lamb’s Pride Bulky, the smallest size (32 sts) and a 4.5 mm needle should give you a ladies small mitten. So if using thicker yarn, try a smaller size. Have fun and experiment!
