This pattern is for a comfy hat with four spouting whales swimming above the band. It is worked in two colors in the round, shaped with decreases around the crown. Any worsted weight yarn will work well. The band of the hat is double-thick ribbing for extra warmth, and extra stretch. An optional tassel gives this hat an added touch of playfulness, just in case the whales aren’t enough!

Errata! In the decreasing instructions, the pattern says to place markers every 26 sts - this is incorrect. You should place markers every 24 sts for the decreases to line up properly.
