The sky blue sample was knit with Knit Picks, Aloft, a delicate mohair blend yarn and silver-lined crystal beads. The grey was knit with Kid Seta Lux and hematite beads. The Cloud 9 Moebius is a versatile fashion accessory and a perfect lightweight choice to enhance any outfit. You can make it with any lightweight mohair. Fun and quick to knit, the pattern results in an airy, wisp of a scarf with a knitted-in twist you may wear doubled.
Using the special cast on invented by Cat Bordhi, this is a very FAST and satisfying method of knitting a moebius. I recommend watching the U-Tube video.
In addition, I have written step-by-step instructions included in this pattern.
It is possible to get two scarves from one ball of yarn, when you vary the amount of cast on stitches. You can also keep going and make one wider moebius.
Bead knitting is optional. I enjoy knitting with beads and hope you will, too.
If choosing to bead your moebius, I recommend TOHO 6/0 seed beads because of their uniformity and smoothness. The version featured here has approximately 100 beads randomly knit into the work. You can add as may as you like.
The Cloud 9 Moebius also makes a lovely gift.
Once you try it, you’ll want one in many colors!
