Coddiwomple, what’s it mean? Doesn’t it sound a bit funky, out of sorts and scattered? Maybe that’s what it means, perhaps that’s the theme? Then again, that might just be the mystery and the fun of the next 30 days. Discovering the interpretation of the word and seeing it come to life in your mystery project.

Speaking of the project, you’ll be making a rectangular wrap/stole/scarf-like accessory. I designed this wrap to be an accessory that is sophisticated, bold, sweet or earthy depending on your yarn and color choice. I wanted something in my wardrobe that could dress up my simple clothes yet an item that I could toss in my backpack to keep my neck warm to keep up with the ever-changing climate whether that be internal or external.

The finished size (pre-blocking) of the wrap is ~13 inches wide X 60 inches long

A theme persists through each section that ultimately relates to the meaning of the word. No searching online for the definition…let the knitting speak to you as you discover the significance of this project. The final product once worn will be a visual treat of color and texture…the beauty of this project is fully realized upon completion.

The official start date is Monday April 3rd and continues through April 30th. To keep our walk-alongs fun, creative and something a little different each time, I’ve decided to try something new. When you purchase the pattern, your email will be added to a private list. You’ll receive an email from me daily from 4/3-30 to inspire and motivate you through the month of April to assist you with accomplishing your personalized walking goals. You can always opt out of this daily email if you choose.

What you might want to know:
The recommended yarn makes this accessory a luxury item…and you are worth it but in case you want a less expensive option I’ve made a few suggestions. Any fingering weight yarn with approximately 440 yds/100 g is appropriate (in this case you’ll need two total skeins, one of each color). Some examples include Hedgehog Fibres Skinny Singles, MadelineTosh Merino Light. If you want to use a variegated or speckled yarn I would suggest using it for color A.

You’ll need approximately 440 yards of color A and 440 yards of color B.

You’ll need two sets of needles, a size 4 and 5. They can be straight or circular (at least 24 inches or 61 cm long), your choice. The larger sized needles were used to get gauge.

There will be a thread in the Healthy Knitter group for spoiler photos. These will be available as we proceed. There is currently a page for introductions (www.ravelry.com/discuss/the-healthy-knitter/3600631) …get to know one another and provide some much needed social support.
