I designed this cowl using a ball of FreshStitches “Magic Ball” -- a skein made from approx 25yds of each color of worsted weight wool, Russian joined together. You can use any worsted-weight wool .. and do the stripes (or not) as you wish.

• this cowl/scarf is knit flat and has a natural inclination to bias; if making the cowl, block flat and then stitch the ends together from the WS
• this cowl/scarf is completely reversible thanks to the ribbed-cable
• the first and last 3 sts are a knitted on i-cord – at beg of row, k3; at end of row, work to last 3 sts, bring yarn to the front, slip last 3 sts. Be sure not to wrap the yarn around the needle when bringing it to the front – you don’t want a yo, you just are shifting the yarn forward as if to purl
