Columns with Shells Scarf - UK Version
This unisex scarf works up quickly using a super bulky yarn. With the thick yarn and textured stitches, it provides beautiful
protection against the harsh winds of late fall and winter.
Although the pattern is rated intermediate because it uses front and back raised (post) stitches, it is actually quite simple to make.
This pattern includes both written instructions in U.K. crochet terminology and an international crochet stitch symbol chart. (A version with U.S. crochet terminology and an international stitch symbol chart is also available here.) This pattern will take about 3-7 hours to complete.
The U.K. version of this pattern was tested by Patriciaelizabeth, RaeDavison, and soxvixen. Testers used a variety of hook sizes to obtain gauge, and the number I’ve listed above was the average. I personally used a larger hook for the sample in the photos since I tend to have tight tension.
The U.S. version of this pattern was published in the Crochet Pattern A Day Calendar 2012. If you would own the calendar, PM MarieInNYC to get a free Rav download of this updated version of the pattern (after answering a calendar question to verify ownership).
