My heritage called to me when designing this and the natural response was a Stole.

The lace stitch is a small symmetrical unit which builds to a rich all-over design. Using stitch-markers to separate the repeats it is a straightforward project.

I was thinking of all the Irish Lace and Aran knitting done in Ireland.

The project was designed for hand-spun natural wool and I have detailed Te Ara Naturals as a substitute in the pattern.

The project uses hand-spun 8ply naturally coloured wool. It measures 1.76cm by 43cm and weighs 360gm.
