Continuum takes its name from the continuous journey or thread the main colour forms through this shawl. Despite the unusual construction and three different colours, the main colour is never broken until the end. This shawl has a unique construction with a touch of mystery to it; it’s virtually impossible to pick where the shawl begins. The variety of techniques and constant intrigue mean this is never a boring knit. Continuum is a shawl that combines some of my favourite techniques to knit, with the result being a shawl that is infinitely wearable and a talking point.

Construction:
Continuum uses an unusual modular construction to create a shallow asymmetrical triangle-shaped shawl. It begins with an off-kilter kite shape that morphs into a mitred square. From there picking up stitches, increases and short rows are used to alter and change the shawl shape as it grows in width before finally finishing with a picot cast-off.

Yarn Requirements:
By Briony Bandicoot fingering (4ply) (100% Australian Polwarth; 580yd530m/150g) - a skein each of 3 different colours ( full skein only required for main colour)

OR fingering/4ply weight yarn in 3 different colours:
Main Colour: 580 yards/530 metres
Contrast Colour 1: 90 yards/80 metres
Contrast Colour 2: 180 yards/160 metres
Original yarn is a worsted-spun low-micron Polwarth with a 2 ply structure. The fabric created drapes and is slightly open when blocked. Stitch definition may appear irregular prior to blocking.

Yardage is approximate and may vary depending on your knitting style and yarn selection.
