The Cozy Winters Cowl is one of five patterns in the “My Forever Home” Collection, a collection of DK weight patterns inspired my home state: Montana.

10% of pattern sale profits Nov 8 - Dec 8, 2020 will go to Montana Rescue Mission to help the homeless in Montana.

Main Features

  • features a tapered design to help the cowl lay flat, showing more of the cowl, and making it easier to style

  • includes 4 sizes from child to large adult

  • includes linked video tutorials for the techniques used within the pattern

  • includes written and charted instructions that have been test knit and professionally tech edited

  • includes a blog post with alternate yarn and color recommendations

ABOUT THE PATTERN
Cozy Winters was inspired by cold, snowy winter weather in Montana: one moment it’s heavily snowing, and the next the sky is clear. The cowl features seven different sections that create a faded texture representing varying snow levels (from whiteout to flurries). This creates a fun, simplistic, and engaging knit. Once the cowl is complete, you can see the snow falling from the sky (at the top of the cowl) and accumulating on the ground (at the bottom of the cowl). Learn more about the design inspiration, knitting experience, and wearing experience here.

This pattern includes both written and charted instructions, but the instructions are separated within the pattern PDF, so you can just print what you need.

TECHNIQUES
The techniques used in this design, with exception to the bind off, are very simple. If you are comfortable with the knit stitch, this project will give you experience with knitting in the round and purling. As an adventurous beginner, you will learn a new bind off technique: the I-cord bind off with the written instructions and linked video tutorial provided in the pattern.

All of my patterns include clear, step-by-step instructions and linked video technique tutorials that walk you through the pattern with confidence. I am also available for pattern support if you have questions.
