Chunky alpaca yarn and braided cables make this hat extra cushy and warm. A purl ridge separates the ribbing from the body of the hat and the decreases maintain the cable pattern nicely. The generous gauge ensures the project will knit up quickly so you can have one to match all your winter coats. Make yours extra tall for a slouchy Cranberry Sauce and top it with a pom pom or a button if you like.

Note: You can make this hat with exactly one skein of the recommended yarn if you get the right gauge. Also, if your brim measures 2” before you’ve completed the specified number of rows, end the brim at that point and go on. Your hat will still come out the right size and it will help you stretch your yardage a bit.
