Summary Toe-up, Garter Stitch Toe, Turkish Heel, Picot Bind-Off; instructions written for 5 x double-pointed needles

From Neatby's Pattern Introduction These socks use a Bosnian-style, Square Garter Stitch Toe and a Turkish Heel. Beginning at the toe has many advantages: custom fit, last minute size adjustments and, for your peace of mind, the option, once past the ankle, of continuing to work up the leg until you have used up almost half of the yarn and know that you have sufficient yarn for the second sock. Shown here with at Garter Cuff and Crenellated (Picot) Bind-Off.

Gauge About 6.5 to 9 inches per inch, with US 0 (2mm) to US 2 (2.75mm) needles.

Additional Gauge Information Work a small stockinette swatch with needles sized for the yarn you are using to ensure fabric will be dense and long-wearing. No need to measure this swatch.

Did you know? Crenel n. Any of the open spaces between the merlons of a battlement.
