CROCHET MAPLE LEAF PATTERN
This maple leaf pattern is a form of Irish crochet and is worked
entirely in one piece.
The leaf consists of five parts- the main part and its two left
extensions and the two right extensions.
Materials
Yarn: Crochet fashion thread J &P Royale crochet thread / Aunt Lydias

10 will give you a leaf that measures 3.5 by 4 inches . Suggested Crochet

hook 2.75mm for the thread
Lightly worsted yarn will give you a finished leaf that measures 5 by 5.5
inches. Suggested Crochet hook 3.25mm for the yarn.
Abbreviations:
sc= single crochet
ch= chain
R = row/round
st= stitch
Back loop only (BLO) ⇒
All stitches to be worked in back loop only
Ch 1 and Turn work after every row.
MAIN LEAF
Will be working in a U shape (the entire U is considered one
round).
R1: ch 17, sc in 2nd ch from hook (counts as a sc), sc into each of
next 14 ch, 3 sc in last chain (the base of the leaf is formed),
working back along the other side of the starting chain, sc into
each of next 15 ch, turn.
R2: ch 1, skip 1 stitch, sc into each stitch till the center stitch at the
base of the leaf, 3 sc into the center stitch, work 1 sc into each stitch
until 3 stitches remain, turn.
R3 to R8: Repeat R2.
1 ST LEFT EXTENSION OF LEAF
(Work in BLO)
You will be working on the main leaf.
R1: 5 ch, sc in each st till 5 sts remain from the center of the leaf ,
turn
R2: sc in each st , 5 ch, turn
R3: sc in each st , then 2sl st in 1st st on main leaf, turn
R4: sc in each st , 5 ch, turn
R5: sc in each st , then 2 sl st in 2nd st on main leaf, turn
R6: sc in each st , till last 3 sts on previous row, turn
R7: sc in each st , then 2 sl st in next st on main leaf, turn
R8: sc in each st , till last 3 sts on previous row, turn
R9: sc in each st , then 2 sl st in next st on main leaf, turn
R10: sc in each st , till last 3 sts on previous row,5 ch, turn
2ND LEFT EXTENSION OF LEAF (work in BLO)
You will be working on the 1st extension of the leaf.
R1: sc in each st till 5 sts remain from the center of the leaf , turn
R2: sc in each st , 3 ch , turn
R3: sc in each st , then 2 sl st in 1st st on 1st extension, turn
R4: sc in each st , 3 ch, turn
R5: sc in each st , then 2 sl st in 2nd st on 1st extension, turn
R6: sc in each st till 3 sts remain, turn
R7: sc in each st , then 2 sl st in next st on 1st extension, turn
R8: sc in each st till 3 sts remain, turn
R9: sc in each st , then 2 sl st in next st on 1st extension, turn
sc to 1st extension to join , then sc in each st of main leaf to start
right extension of the leaf, 5 ch, turn
1ST RIGHT EXTENSION OF LEAF

R1: 5 ch, sc in each st till 5 sts remain from the center of the leaf ,
turn
R2: sc in each st , 5 ch, turn
R3: sc in each st , then 2 sl st in 1st st on main leaf, turn
R4: sc in each st , 5 ch, turn
R5: sc in each st , then 2 sl st in 2nd st on main leaf, turn
R6: sc in each st , till last 3 sts on previous row, turn
R7: sc in each st , then 2 sl st in next st on main leaf, turn
R8: sc in each st , till last 3 sts on previous row, turn
2ND RIGHT EXTENSION OF LEAF (work in BLO)
You will be working on 1st right leaf extension.
R1: sl 3 sts backwards, 5 ch, sc in each st till 5 sts remain from the
center of the leaf , turn
R2: sc in each st , 3 ch , turn
R3: sc in each st , then 2 sl st in 1st st on 1st extension, turn
R4: sc in each st , 3 ch, turn
R5: sc in each st , then 2 sl st in 2nd st on 1st extension, turn
R6: sc in each st till 3 sts remain, turn
R7: sc in each st , then 2 sl st in next st on 1st extension, turn
R8: sc in each st till 3 sts remain, turn
R9: sc in each st , then 2 sl st in next st on 1st extension, turn
sc to 1st extension to join .
STEM OF THE LEAF
18 ch and then turn and make sc in each ch to make stem of leaf.
Then join with sl st to main leaf.
Cut ends of yarn.
