The stitches are beginner friendly and the pattern can be done by someone who has worked in the round before. Use only natural fibers like wool (preferred) or cotton and dull colors when creating for military members. Hunters would appreciate this cap also, and can be created in the cammo patterns or pumpkin orange of Red Heart acrylics.

Rows 36-44 creates a flap in the front that blocks wind around the neck. You can skip this part and just do rounds, but the liner will bunch up on the back of the neck.

Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. I made this pattern free so that people will make lots of these for our military members! Please check to see if your local veteran’s organization is collecting these kind of hats. I had some responses that said they were not. However, I have made a couple of these for individuals who were stationed in Afghanistan and they loved them. Thank you!
