An intermediate pattern for fingerless gloves.
There are cast on options if you aren’t comfortable with the provisional cast on.
The mitts are worked in the round with gusset shaping for the thumb worked into the overall diamond pattern which is worked on both sides of the gloves. Both mitts are worked the same.
One of my test knitters added an extra row of diamonds below the thumb shaping to give a longer mitt which looks lovely.
For the shorter mitt one 50g ball is plenty (around 145 yards) but if you want to add an extra repeat of the diamonds you will need about 200 yards.
The needle size given is just a guidline for gauge - use whichever needle gives the correct tension.

The pattern is worked in the round and it would be easier if you are able to do the ‘magic loop’.

The tension given is for the Royd Moor yarn. Most sock weight yarns would be suitable, particularly with a high twist as this shows the stitch definition best, but you really should check your gauge with a tension square to be sure.
Pattern has written instructions in UK terms with a full list of abbreviations etc.
