Pattern renamed in a contest held in January 2020. New name is “Diamonds in the Palms of Her Hands” -- the winner was inspired by the design and the Paul Simon song, “Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes”

The Diamonds in the Palms of her Hands Fingerless Gloves was inspired by geometric shapes and wanting to combine cabling and colorwork in the same project. The name was inspired by the Paul Simon song“Diamonds on the Soles of her Shoes” from his “Graceland” album, and was chosen the winner of an Instagram contest that was held in January 2020. I think that this name is PERFECT for these gloves, and I hope you enjoy knitting them up as much as I enjoyed picking this winning name <3

I originally created this pattern as part of a knitwear design challenge to create something that used at least 2 knitting techniques.

Skills needed to complete these gloves are:

-Using M1L (Make 1 Left) and M1R (Make 1 Right) stitch increases to form the thumb gusset.
-Using 2/2 LC and 2/2 RC (Left Cross and Right Cross) cables
-Using Fair-Isle color work techniques
-Reading a Chart.

All skills required will have an associated training video linked in the pattern for you to use if it’s something you haven’t done before.

Happy Knitting!
