This unique pattern will provide you with endless options for completing this simple and stylish toque using any weight yarn you have on hand and in any size you can think of. Use the charts to select yarn weight, needles, and finished hat size and simply fill in the blanks in the pattern as written. There are instructions for working folded or flat brims and for working up a slouchy toque or close-fit beanie.
For the crown shaping, there are two very simple formulas (using a table containing all stitch counts) to determine decreases and rate of decrease to finish your hat. Have a calculator ready, but rest assured these are extremely simple calculations that anyone can figure easily.
