The Distant Shores Shawl takes a single skein of variegated or speckled yarn and frames it in solid or tonal lace, creating texture around the stunning colourway.

The shawl is knit as an asymmetrical triangle, with increases on both front and back on the right side, and decreases down the left side on one side only. The lace border is knit at the same time on either side in a different colour, using two ends of the same skein, allowing you to showcase that centrepiece yarn.

Once the central section is complete, you turn the corner of the border on the right hand side of the shawl and then work along the top of the shawl, binding off the stitches of the central section whilst knitting on the remaining border.

Blocked, it measures approximately 150cm across the top and 60cm at the widest point.

Requires: 100g skein of variegated or speckled yarn and 100g skein of complementary solid or tonal yarn (both in fingering weight)

The pattern has been tech edited and test knit, and includes both written instructions and charts.
