“Happy Hunger Games! And may the odds be ever in your favor!”

This is my take on the famous cowl worn by Jennifer Larwrence as Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. I saw something like it a while ago & wanted to recreate it. The cable pattern flatters the shoulder area, giving some interesting texture and hold, while the 2x2 rib for the collar keeps the cowl style in place. The bottom portion is just a simple stockinette stitch with increases up until mid-armhole and then knitted till the end with continuing decreases.

Size is fit to measure for teens/adults (in super bulky yarn weight) with instructions on how to achieve the size you’d like. I haven’t knitted a version for kids, but I would just change out the yarn weight and needle size and follow pattern instructions as is.

A quick knit that will keep you warm for those brisk District 12 days.
