~~~~~~~* Now more about street dogs~~~~~~
First…I’ll tell a quick story about Luna….
…….On the crazy streets of Kathmandu, one full moon night, a 3- month old feral dog, Luna, was hit by a car that resulted in one amputated leg and injuries on all other three legs. She was brought into a lovely organization called Street Dog Car- where I met her. While nursing her back to health, Luna and I fell in love and I realized I could not leave her to fend for herself back on the streets of Nepal, so I brought her back to the United States with me so she can live her life in peace. Luna is one of the more fortunate dogs, most of the dogs remain in Kathmandu living out their life on the street, with very little care other than what is offered by NGOs.
But one organization is making a big difference! Street Dog Care NGO is a small, volunteer run, grassroots organization devoted to offering medical care to ill and injured street dogs, assisting hundreds of dogs per year and working together to make this world a better place for all beings. Street Dog Care is run solely on donations from caring individuals like you, and 100% of proceeds from this pattern sale will go directly to the dogs! (see note above, current sales are benefiting Out to Pasture Farm Sanctuary)
Street Dog Care is special amongst all the dog organizations- we are based strongly in Buddhist philosophy, each dog is a family member known on a first name basis, and we are No-Kill organization. We work with the local community to find injured dogs and for those pups in bad situations, they can stay long term in our peaceful shelter until they are completely healthy once again!
For dogs who are very sick and on their last days (which is not so uncommon with street dogs), we offer a peaceful sanctuary where they can spend their last few days, and a nice Buddhist burial ceremony to help them move on to where ever they may go after this life….
Please visit Street Dog Care’s website or facebook for more information, and learn how you can invest more in our project and make this world a better place for our four-legged (and 3-legged!!) friends!
Thank you and with much love from Kathmandu!:)
Street Dog Care is small grassroots organization based in Kathmandu, Nepal.
