I was going through my stash and wondering what I could do with all the little balls of leftover sock yarn I have. There must be 30 balls with 20-40 grams of yarn each. Dog lover that I am I started wondering whether to try to knit collars or leashes, but those wouldn’t be very sturdy in sock yarn. Then it struck me… how classy would it be to sport a hand-knit dog poo-bag dispenser pouch! Responsible dog owners always need a bag when they are out walking! This is what I came up with! It takes about 10 grams of sock yarn and holds one roll of pick-up bags and a little money for coffee or doggie treats! It can be made in a few hours, and makes a great stocking stuffer or fundraising item for rescue organizations or shelters.

Rolls of bags can be purchased cheap on eBay (search for dog waste pickup bags). They are also available (but cost more) at most pet supply shops and at discount shops like Ollies and BigLots.
