This pattern is very versatile – you can use the finished product as a washcloth in the shower or bath or as a dishcloth in your kitchen. The texture of the stitches makes it perfect for gentle exfoliation of your skin, as well as scrubbing your dishes or pots and pans without scratching their surface.

The pattern uses the following stitches: chain, single crochet, double crochet, the double crochet ‘cross stitch’ (explained below), slip stitch and has an optional reverse single crochet edging.

I use very few abbreviations in my patterns; the steps are all spelled out. However if you have questions I’m always available via email (my email address is listed at the end of the pattern).

(If you are just learning or need a refresher, there are also some links to video crochet tutorials at the end of the pattern.)
