The pattern includes instructions to make the cactus and accessories (Christmas hat and scarf, Halloween witch hat, and a reversible Saguaro blossom hat). You can easily turn this into a Christmas tree ornament by securing the Christmas hat and scarf and attaching a ribbon through the top of the hat.
