Former MKAL of February 1026, now all in one file.

Dryads in Greek mythology were the nymphs of the forests. As February is the last month of winter, let’s knit this shawl inspired and dedicated to the nymphs while waiting for spring to arrive!

This is a lace shawl and the difficulty is advanced beginner to intermediate. As always I will provide both charts and written explanation. You have the option to choose between beaded or not beaded shawl (you will need 73 beads) and 4 different yarn weights. Gauge is not important but the yardage is different for every yarn weight.

Please find below needles and yarn requirements for different yarn weights:

Lace weight: Needles: 3.5mm Yardage: 340 – 380 yards (310 - 350 meters) Finished Measurements: 24x48 inches (60x120 cm)
Fingering weight: Needles: 4mm Yardage: 410 – 450 yards (375 - 410 meters) Finished Measurements: 26x52 inches (65x130 cm)
DK weight: Needles: 4.5mm Yardage: 490 – 540 (450 - 490 meters) Finished Measurements: 30x60 inches (75x150 cm)
Worsted weight: Needles: 5.5mm Yardage: 760 – 800 (700 - 730 meters) Finished Measurements: 39x78 inches (100x200cm)

For those working with lace or fingering weight yarn it will be possible to knit a bigger shawl in case they want so.
(Lace: yardage: 600 – 640 yards / 550 - 590 meters, finished measurements: 30x60 inches / 75x150cm, fingering weight: yardage: 720 – 750 yards / 650 - 690 meters, finished measurements: 33x66 inches/ 80x165cm). For the beaded version of this shawl you will need 97 beads.
