Dutchess has a simple construction to show off the bold colourwork design. The body and sleeves are worked in the round to the armholes, then joined for the circular yoke. Short rows are used to raise the back of the neck after the sleeves and body are joined. The yoke and neckband are worked in the round.

Yarn
A worsted weight yarn with crisp stitch definition that will show off the strong yoke design is ideal, wool or wool blends with a bit of elasticity will work best. While the pullover is shown in a superwash wool, any smooth yarn, such as a worsted spun untreated wool should work for the crisply geometric colourwork. I recommend swatching the yoke pattern to see how your colours will work together, the results can often be surprising.
