Crochet hen - not only an Easter decoration :-)

This colorful decoration will brighten your home:-) You could decorate your childrens´ room or place it on your table, anywhere you want. It’s such fun to make this cheerful decoration. It is beginner frienly design. I hope that when you look at it, there will be smile on your face as same as on my face when I am looking at this hen :-)

This pattern is written in standard American (US) terms, in English language, with step-by-step instruction and plenty pictures for succesfull completing of your work. The file has 11 sizes.

Needed material:

• fine/ sport/ 12 wpi yarn
• hook 3 mm
• tapestry needle
• common sewing thread and needle
• buttons average 8 mm
• 1 button average 34 mm
• 2 pieces of black mushroom buttons average 6 mm
• toy filling
• ribbon 2.5 cm/1 inch, about 80 cm/31.5 inches length
• small piece of felt
• scissors

I used this yarn:
mixture of cotton and acrylic Kacenka by Nitarna Ceska Trebova
Yarn weight: Sport 5 ply / (12 wpi), Yardage: 164 yards (150 meters) per 50g ball

I used these colors: 2254 orange, little amount of 3454 pink,1164 yellow, 3374 red, 0010 white. You will need about 28 g totally.

There is written alternative material in the pattern.

I used a hook 3 mm
Gauge of the pattern: 11 stitches and 11 rows = in square of 2 x 2 inches

Size of finished hen: the hen is approximately 4.8 inches/13 cm tall (measured with the comb and without ribbon tail), approximately 2.7 inches/7 cm width, and about 6.7 inches/17 cm long – measured with the bill. Please remember, that the size of finished hen depends on used material and your own style of crocheting.

Level of the pattern: Easy
Basic skills of crocheting are needed. You should know, how to crochet: Chain (CH), Slip stitch (SlSt), Single crochet (SC), Double crochet (DC), Increasing (inc): 2 SC in same stitch, Decreasing (dec): crochet 2 SC together
