Brioche knitting gives you a wide rib with lots of bounce. This is a simple pattern to get you brioching your first project.

Enjoy creating this super simple brioche knitting pattern. Use a bulky yarn and fat needles for a soft fluffy cowl that will knit up in no time. Add buttons and fringe to jazz it up, or leave it plain for a classic casual look.

Don’t worry if you’ve never brioched, this pattern actually walks you through step by step how to do it, and gives you hints and tips to survive your first brioch project. We even include a video so you can see the magic in action!

For this pattern I recommend Lana Gatto’s Bright yarn the sample shown is in the ‘Mauve, Wine, Ecru’ colorway and features stripes of silvery tinsel.

You Will Need:
~150 Yards of Bulky Yarn (just for the basic cowl, you’ll need more for a fringe)
US 15 (10mm) Knitting Needles (they can be straight or circular- we’re just working back and forth)
3 Buttons to decorate your cowl (optional)
