Easy Guy Shawl is a striped triangle shawl, knit from the top down. It’s designed to show off a gradient or multicolored yarn against a contrasting solid or tonal shade.

The sample shown is knit in Cascade Heritage Wave for the gradient-stripe effect, with Malabrigo Yarn Sock in Solis as a tonal/solid contrast color.

Easy Guy is an easy project, with just a couple of lines of instructions to keep in mind once you’re underway. But it does have a few interesting details, including a bias-knit triangle beginning and two types of increases.

Materials:

  • MC: 100g/440yds or 1 skein Cascade Heritage Wave in Plume (501); CC: 80g/352yds Malabrigo Yarn Sock in Solis (809), or similar yarns to substitute
  • 1 48”circular needle in US4-5/3.5-3.75mm, or size needed for gauge.
  • Removable stitch markers, if desired
  • Tapestry needle for weaving ends

Gauge:
Gauge is 21 sts and 42 rows in 4”/10cm in blocked garter stitch, worked flat. Please be sure to check your gauge.
