This was a free download Rowan pattern knitted flat and stitched together, finishing the neck band with 4.5mm circular needles.

When I knitted it, I extended the arms and the body to make it long enough for his lanky stature. I would add an extra 10-20cm to the length of each panel before adding the raglan decreases if you also have a rather tall or lanky boyfriend.
