This cowl hugs your neck to keep out the drafts. It begins as a split cowl that is knit sideways in garter stitch from the bottom up. The edging is knit as you go with the use of cast ons and decreases. Then join and work the ribbed turtleneck and ruffle in the round. Knit with a DK weight yarn, I used a size 8 - 16” circular knitting needle but you may wish to use a size 7 needle. The cowl takes from 123-150 yards. Unblocked size is 25” around x 9” deep at the deepest point. Can be knit in other weights of yarn by changing the needle size to suit the yarn. The three page pattern has written instructions only.
