The second sock in the TRIBUTE SERIES, This sock was inspired by Effie Trinket, A character from The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins. She is a bubbly, effervescent, confection of a woman. Optimistic and perpetually perky, she is the official spokeswoman and liaison between the CAPITOL and District 12. Her personal style is very bright, bubbly, curvy and colorful. She’s the kind of woman who would put a ruffle on a ruffle and is not afraid of pink!

To reflect Effie’s bouncy personality, I’ve designed a lace sock that features a pattern with swirls and curls, just like Effie! It also has a twisted rib cuff (because they look neat and clean) and a twisted rib center back panel to add subtle shaping while also giving the visual appearance of a corset (a necessary accessory for a lady of The Capitol). It also features an afterthought ruffle which is added after the entire sock has been knit, and can be left of if the knitter desires a simpler appearing sock. Specifically designed to flatter and feature the Candy Skein April 2012 color of the month “Butter Mints,” EFFIE SOCK should be well suited for multi-colored, variegated yarns as well as solids and semi solids.

General Notes:
This pattern includes instructions for a cuff down sock with 3 sizes (S, M, L).

Each size includes 4 leg charts (two for the lace, and two for the rib), and an instep chart. Instructions have also been included for a narrow width version of the sock. The toe and heel are not charted and have only written instructions. This sock may be suitable for toe up conversion.

Fit Notes:
Size medium should fit most people and is the recommended size.
